smelly sandals!!!

i have a pair of sandals that i love. This is their 5th or 6th summer!!! Each summer i try and replace them, but i still revert back to wearing them as i just love them so much.

Problem is - they smell . They are open toed and strappy, the sole (or the bit my foot sits on) is fabric.

Any tips for cleaning them?

I've tried the washing machine and scrubbing the soles, but doesnt make much difference.

Anyone have any magical tips before i finally abandon my beloved sandals?

or you could just wash your feet full stop LOL.

ja9, you need new sandals - it's time to say bye bye to the smelly old ones and go shopping!

think i might be getting the hint....

.. although, i do have other sandals, i just like these ones the best.(sigh)

think i might go to the shops tomorrow anyhow!

Chap in outdoorwear shop told me that walkers stick theirs in a bag and freeze them to prevent nasty odours. Might be worth a go before you consign them to the bin.
