Come on deary, can't believe you are such a glum flum about your wedding! Only five weeks to go, should be a very exciting time, you need some buoying up methinks...

Now, what exactly is the problem?

I'm such a chicken. I asked MN team to delete the link to my dress. I just thought I would be mortified if someone ridiculed it or hated it. Its such a personal thing.

As soon as I posted the link I thought I'm opening myself up a bit here.

Thanks for all your support.

Hausfrau. Cat me and I'll send you the link to the dress if you like. But I can't put mydress up for public Mumnset scrutiny again.

MascaraOHara · 19/07/2005 13:00

I WANT TO SEE! I WANT TO SEE!

I... WANT... TO... SEE...!!!!!!!

sarjon · 19/07/2005 13:18

Sorry to butt in but I clicked on the link to your dress last night because am always nosey about others peoples weddings (I got married last year) and FWIW I think your dress looked absolutely beautiful! Really unique and just right for a perfect summer wedding.

I hope everything goes ok for you

xx

Ellbell · 19/07/2005 13:38

Oh Flum... but the dress was gorgeous... all floaty and summery and flouncey (in a good way, not in a 'MN flounce' way!) and 'look-at-me-I'm-the-bride-and-I'm-loving-it'-ey!! So glad I clicked on here in the brief timeslot when the link to the dress was available. I expect to see some pics of you wearing it on member profiles after the event.

Everyone else... I saw the dress and it was just lovely.

Ellbell · 19/07/2005 13:40

Kama... know what you mean. For reasons too boring to go into, we had a very small wedding at which I wore a fairly bog standard (nice, but not 'bridal') green suit. Flum's dress made we wish I'd gone a bit more 'bridal'...

CountessDracula · 19/07/2005 14:22

Oh Flum pls CAT me with it!

OP posts:
peckarollover · 19/07/2005 14:25

Flum enjoy it My dress was a maggie sottero and I ADORED it, they are so flattering.Im gutted I will never wear it again.

Your thread is making me reallllllllly sad mine is over now. You will have the best day of your life.

My friends had to go out and get me some stress relief tablets the morning of the wedding I had no idea i would be so nervous and excited i was a real mess.

Dingle · 19/07/2005 14:44

Oh goodness me, I am all emotional again!!
We have been married almost 8 years now, and I can still remember it as if it were yesterday. I remember a few days before hand going into panic mode, wondering what I had forgotten, would it all go to plan, what would the weather be like....

My heart still flutters as I remember the scorching hot afternoon, linking arms with my dad and walking up the aisle. I vaugley remeber the odd face turning to see me as I walked towards the altar. But as soon as I spotted DH, that was it, I was completely oblivious of everyone and everything else that was around me. It is a truely magical day, a day for DH and me. That was all that truely mattered.

I am sure your dress is fab, surely it's not that unusual to feel strange in it, after all it's not everyday you get to dress like a princess! Make the most of it, soon you will be looking back at it, with wonderful memories!

HUGS....Dingle.xx

madrush · 19/07/2005 15:00

Hey Flum,

Don't regret your choice of dress, our wedding day 5 years ago was fab, but I look at the photos now and wonder whether I should have gone more flouncy. I didn't want to frighten DH (who had said he hated all white wedding dresses) so I did silvery satin and plain slim fitting. Ever since, we've been going to weddings where DH says "that's a great wedding dress" and I have a pang that I should have just gone for it at the time!

I'm sure you'll look beautiful and have a fab day.

All the best!

Flum · 20/07/2005 02:18

Oh my god dying to put link back up again now. But I only want positive re-inforcement at this stage (as dress bought and paid for). can't be sure to get it.

can't put it back up, Mumnset would ban me for arsing them around.

Would they? Would you Mumsnet?

its not even about parenting FFS, which is why we are sposed to be here.

Anyway. I love my own thread thank you Countess.

A question: First dance ideas: In the melting pot are:

When I'm 64 by Beatles (winning by a country mile)

All about you - McFly ( I love, DP thinks its cheese mc cheese)

Thorn in my side - Eurythmics ( I think is hilarious)

She Bangs - Ricky Martin (just to see the look on the mums faces)

Paradise by the dashboard light - Meatloaf.
(hilarious but very long and little dance-ability)

or finally

I don't wanna dance - Eddie Grant (Dps pick as he catagorically does not wanna dance)

Answers on a post card please.

From the Night Bride

Rose Garden
I Only want to be with you

OP posts:
BridetobeFlum · 22/07/2005 00:37

Ahh we are having 'There may be trouble ahead as our second dance'

and 'When I'm 64' as first.

what a coincidence.

Love that 'Rose Garden song and so appropriate and it would satisfy my furtive urges for C& W music. ouch.

Anyway am really looking forward to wedding now.

People have been sooooooo generous with wedding presents - can't believe it am bit overwhelmed. A thankyou card seems not enough for the gorgeous presents. Will have to invite all to dinner to use our lovely new crock and glassware we will have!

Flum · 05/09/2005 00:33

Dear everyone, thanks for cheering me up in run upt to wedding.

It was amazing !!!!!!!!

Everything perfect. DH took over most of organising with my Mum, I chilled and got nails done and stuff.

And......... loads of our mates clubbed together and bought us the honeymoon we couldn't afford to send ourselves on. They sent us to Taormina in Sicily it was also AMAZING.

All in all it was AMAZING, so chuffed to be hitched.

I have a piccy or two for the select few. Cat me if you wanna see!

jampots · 05/09/2005 00:36

i am nosey and would like to see them so I have CAT'ed you

Flum · 06/09/2005 23:35

Flum · 07/09/2005 00:48

Everyone loved the dress. was a bit nervous about it but felt like a stunner in it.

had back ache the whole honeymoon though, due to the corset I think. gonna post an incognito piccy one night, arf arf.

songs what hymns: Lord of the Dance, Jerusalem, Dear Lord and Father of Mankind. THen we had Panis Angelicus during the signing, kiddy choir, very sweet.

First Dance: When I'm 64! Followed by 'There may be trouble ahead......

WideWebWitch · 07/09/2005 06:46

Ogh congrats Flum, I'm glad it went well.

Flum · 07/09/2005 22:46

Aww thank you. am still in 'afterglow' better than sex innit. though obviously there was a bit of that too. hence the 'wedding night prgnancy false alarm the other night'.

Flum · 20/06/2015 03:27
