JELLYCAT SLACKERJACK PUPPY - Lost Toy Emergency Call Out!

SycamoretreeIsVile · 08/02/2010 20:22

Oh MNetters of the world, please please can anyone help.

DS 2.5 has had his beloved brown slackerjack puppy by Jellycat since birth. It goes by the highly original moniker of DogDog.

Now, I was a ridiculously organised mum and once I realised how attached DS was getting to DogDog I bought a spare just in case.

Just before Christmas DH managed to lose DogDog when he decided it would a great idea to let DS walk around DD's school bring and buy toy sale. He returned home DogDog-less and the school had already bagged up everything that wasn't sold and quite rightly were not prepared to do a search and rescue mission.

So with much cajoling, DS accepted new DogDog into the fold. He knew it wasn't the old one (who was of course missing an eye and flat of fur after much washing). Now, only a couple of months in, DH has broken the cardinal new rule of DogDog and walked DS to swimming in the buggy this morning.

We have just tried to put DS to bed and guess what - no DogDog.

I think I may be about to divorce him in a fit of rage.

Of course, DogDog is now discontinued. You cannot find him for love nor money...

That is where you come in my dear MNetters, or at least I hope you do. Do ANY of you have one lying around unloved and unwanted? I think I would be prepared to pay a quite ridiculous price.

He looks like this: lostpup

Or if you can by some miracle direct me to a shop, online or otherwise that might still be carrying them, I think I will make you some kind of demi-god.

If you haven't yet sensed my desperation, I am yours, in desperation,

Syc.

we had a jelly cat dog

named " Dogger"
that was lost.
i llike yours pose 0 very casual.
ime dont bother trying to find a replacement, its never the same

SycamoretreeIsVile · 08/02/2010 20:27

But that's the thing, he had just, like, totally accepted the interloper DogDog, the new one, the fake one.

He now loves the new DogDog.

Except he can't, because he's lying in a ditch somewhere, int the snow, unloved, shivering....hating DH.

So sorry to hear this - it is my worst fear.
DD also has the slackajack puppy (flopsy dog) and would be mortified if he went missing.
I feel your pain, and wish you well in your search

BitOfFun · 08/02/2010 20:29

I will scour the internet for you, Syc...bear with me

norksinmywaistband · 08/02/2010 20:29

Btw I would make dh trawl the path all night til he returned with it

YoureGorgeous · 08/02/2010 20:30

no dogger was replaced by mini dogger
and was never the same
he then moved onto "penny duck" who has been redressed by mum three times
currently in green immersion style suit

SycamoretreeIsVile · 08/02/2010 20:31

merci norks, shared pain is something in the midst of this heartbreak.

Oh My God!

(and hello dear sweet BOF).

I know you wont' believe it but DH has just called, from a feckin' phone box call withheld!! He is out in the snow retracing steps and has found DogDog sitting on a pillar under the railway arches by swimming.

I feel such a fool to have posted now, but seriously, how incredible is that? That kind of thing just doesn't ever happen, does it?

You should hear the relief in DH's voice. Like he realises he has not only saved DogDog, but also his marriage.

I'm so happy I could cry.

SycamoretreeIsVile · 08/02/2010 20:35

Oh god, I really sound like an attention seeking old bint now.

Thank god BOF is on the thread to vouch for my general sanity and lack of inclination to start lost toy threads only to announce, WE FOUND HIM! Like, 5 minutes later.

BitOfFun · 08/02/2010 20:35

Any good?

SycamoretreeIsVile · 08/02/2010 20:37

Oh BOF you are such a star, and so sorry to have wasted your time.

He's way too golden to be DogDog but never fear, DH has won the hour!

OP posts:
BitOfFun · 08/02/2010 20:37

Oh bless him!

Hurrah!!

BitOfFun · 08/02/2010 20:38

I was going to suggest dyeing in tea bags or something

SycamoretreeIsVile · 08/02/2010 20:38

Poor sod went out without a coat on such was his desire to escape my wrath and to return home triumphant. It's snowing and he is very very cold, but he has a small cuddly dog to keep him warm.

Hahaha! All is well in the world!

Pingpong · 08/02/2010 20:41

delighted to hear that DogDog has been found! Keep an eye on ebay for a spare though as I found a replacement green dog for my friend after her wee boy's green dog got lost abroad. It's amazing what comes up on ebay but typically not when you are desperate! My real dog has destroyed a few things of DD's and I've been able to replace them with ebay ones.

norksinmywaistband · 08/02/2010 20:42

Lol glad he is back home safe and sound.
In my googling though I did come across an almost identical white one - I was going to say tell ds he changed colour in the snow

SycamoretreeIsVile · 08/02/2010 20:45

Yes, the white one is still available for purchase...in all his dazzling, non DogDog glory

Happy happy happy!!!!

We just went upstairs and woke both DD and DS up (DD was almost more distraught I think!). They are both extremely happy.

It does make me want to hug whoever put DogDog on that post.

Now, that's all my good karma and luck used up for a while. No point playing the lottery this week.
