kmg, ds is almost 8 and dd will be 6 in Oct. I read the last book only to ds last year - it was too complicated for dd although she would sometimes sit in on the story session! TBH, I found myself explaining quite a lot in book 4 but it was worth it. Now ds is older, he seems to be following the story without too many problems.

BTW, I finished it this morning - couldn't wait - and it was fab!

Ahhhhh... Finished it at last!

How on earth is everyone finding the time to read it?! I am a very fast reader (if I do say so myself!) but I am "only" half way through..it is so big!!

DS1 and 2 were/are in nursery all day yesterday and today

nerdgirl · 24/06/2003 15:23

Took me 16 hours to read it, Futurity.

That's five and a half hours on Saturday and Sunday nights from 8:00 to 1:30. So no sex for dh!

One hour on Saturday afternoon while dyeing my hair.

Three hours on Sunday morning while dh brought the lads to the zoo and one hour yesterday morning before anyone else was awake.

But I HAD to finish it! Pathetic or what?

Thanks Oxocube - ds1 is nearly 6, and wants me to read bk4 to him, but I think he's too young. (He's very sensitive). So I think I'll wait a bit longer .. He's reading bk1 to himself AGAIN now!

(We've read the Hobbit to him, the Railway Children, Phoenix and the Carpet: he's fantastic at listening, and asking if he doesn't understand. But I think he'll appreciate HP4 more when he is a bit older.)

Hoorah! hoorah!... going back to my original dilemna of where to get book 5! i ended up sending my little sister to pick one up for me... (she was picking one up for herself as well.. i'm not that much of a meanie!!!)... so managed to get it on sat evening! but couldn;t read it as we were driving home... damn i wished i could read in the car!!! had to talk to dh instead!!!!

read about 6 chpaters that night... then did two marathon reads on sunday and monday night... 8pm - 12:30am!!! - after dd had gone to bed and hoorah hoorah! finished it last night!!!

i was despaerate to finsih it as i work in school and i was sure one of the little blighters would tell me the ending! thus the reason for the speed read!... now they're all asking me what happenned... but i won't tell them as i think it spoils the fun out of it!!!

oh well... when is book 6 out then?
