Is there a way of hiring designer dresses for one evening?

There are also some evening dress shops which do it - where are you based? The ballroom in Oxford hires out dresses and will do temporary alterations to get them to fit perfectly even for a hire.

(or if you are a 10 and would like to borrow something long, silk and bias cut, let me know - am hugely pg so will not be wearing any of them any time soon)
