Quick update

I am home from hospital. I am feeling an awful lot better although obviously still tired and coughing a fair bit.

Diagnosis is definitely pneumonia, and there is no real cause as such. I definitely didn't have swine flu. Looks like it was just bad luck.

Came home this morning, after going in Friday. My stats are all down, so temp down, heart rate down and stabilised, etc.

Will be away from work for at least 2 weeks and under orders to rest completely. So back to PJs, sofa and blanket

Collected DD on way home from hospital so she is having an afternoon off school. Have hardly spent any time with her sincre she went to school on Friday morning, and she was ever so sad on the phone last night. So, going to be snuggled up on sofa watching TV/films I think.

So - two weeks to fill....did I miss much on MN?

RolandButter · 11/01/2010 20:19

ooh poor you!! ihad it when ds2 was 5 weeks old

wasnt in hosp though
wwo
i got better really fast

LauraIngallsWilder · 11/01/2010 20:34

I hope you enjoy watching films with your dd!

I insist you take the advice to rest seriously!
My mum had pneumonia last year and said she felt better after a week or so......... and then felt awful for longer than she would have done if she had rested for longer in the first place!

So rest rest rest

Hulababy · 12/01/2010 12:50

Well I was obviously tired after the hospital; didn't wake up til 11:45am this morning, lol!

I am already feeling a lot better although the right side of my chest is pretty tight still, not as bad though. I am still cughing, but again it is not all the timel it was initially with every breathe. The right lung was full of infection and us and all things gross really. But it is improving lots. The 6 tablets three times a day is probably doing thier stuff!

So, another day of PJs and sofa Haven't been dressed for longer than an hour or so (twice to go to doctors; once to go to hospital) since the beginning of Janaury!

I promise I will adhede to the medical advce to rest. The consuultant (who looked about 12 BTW!!!) was very very clear in his expectations of what I should and should not be doing.

Welcome home sorry to hear you are poorly.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/01/2010 13:02

welcome home.

I'll put in another reminder to take the rest advice seriously no matter how much better you feel in a few days.

lots and lots of fluids

Hulababy · 12/01/2010 13:25

Oh, I am drinking water by the gallon. What with no alcohol since beginnning of Janaury, and so much water, ph and no make up = by end of this I should had a pretty good detox (well, bar the right lung) and glowing skin.

lol - everyone will be saying how well you look soon
you know to get proper rest you need to still try and look a little pale

edam · 12/01/2010 16:43

Oh, poor you, sounds horrid. Glad to hear you are obeying doctor's orders and resting. Don't even begin to think about anything more taxing than lifting the remote control (if you feel up to it, that is). Is dh around to take dd to and from school?

Hulababy · 12/01/2010 18:37

Have managed to cope with the remote, and strangely my laptop

Yes Edam, DH is around. He is being fab and sorting DD out p;lus sorting food out, as well as working. He has rushed back early today to get dd from afterschool care, home, fed us all and taken her to drama. Bless him!

Katz has also been fb and she and her DH have had DD over the weekend, and a couple of nighs thi week. Had my parents helping over weekend too, and other good friends with DD this week and next.

I am being looked after. Could get used to it!

edam · 12/01/2010 22:28

yeah, but did you really have to go to such extreme lengths? I'm sure dh would have let you sleep in one morning if you had just asked nicely, you know...

Hulababy · 13/01/2010 08:10

lol, that is true

Am feelling very tired today, coughing lots and chest feels tight. Was feeling a bit better yesterday. Hadn't realised how washed out for so long this would make me I guess.
