Those body scanners that they are talking about for airports....what about

Pregnant women?
They say that they are safe...but are they?

Any one know anything about them?

I understand that they use microwaves rather than ionising radiation.

To damage cells, the wavelength has to be approximately the same size as the cell. These wavelengths are the order of magnitude of millimetres.

These scanners use less than 1% of the power of your mobile phone, and are of a similar-ish wavelength (an order of magnitude away).
This is from my dh, who works in this specialism - are they safe for pg women - totally safe - and he is a scientist and never gives definite answers!!
So if you're going to worry about them - better get rid of your mobile first.
