Hi. I wonder if anyone has a similar problem. I'm a bit worried a drink too much. I usually have two thirds of a bottle of wine a night (more than that if I go out). I know that isn't that excessive but I find it very hard to have a night free of alcohol. I also compulsively eat too and can't seem to get out of the binge cycle.

No but I'm thinking about the putting something in your mouth angle (well, it is after 10.30pm!)

I find not having the substance of temptation in the house helps alot.

Have u ever tried drinking non alcoholic wine... sparkling grape juice as a substitute.

Drink weak chilled lager instead - works for me. Wine is lovely, I agree, but too strong if you drink more than a glass or two.

wow i'm so gald more people have posted, especially Jan and Bubble99. I don't feel so alone now. I too find it very hard not to have wine in the fridge and agree if I manage not to have a glass after ds is in bed I can go an evening without. It's willpower I guess which I lack!

I had my 3rd alcohol-free night last night - only the second time I've gone that long in 2 and a half years.

It's a bad habit - gotta break it. Feel wonderful today and yesterday although the first dry night, I slept dreadfully.

Didnt someone once suggest having two / three dry nights a week and one dry week in every four and if you find that a struggle then perhaps a rethink of habits is required.

I used to drink far more than i do now, but since dd have cut right back (and incidentally now weigh half a stone less than i did pre baby but i sag in all the wrong places and I attribute that to drinking less)
