Happy birthday! How are you feeling? It's my 40th next month - argh! We're still younger than Madonna, Michelle Pfieffer and Demi Moore though...Doing anything special? My dh is planning a surprise, which fills me with horror and terror..

Happy Birthday from me too. Hope you're having a good day.

And many happy returns from a fellow southsider also squaring up to shortly having a tiny baby at 40 . Have a super day with hopefully lots of treats!

Oh! Thank you! Well, I've had a day OFF - in fact being hugely pregnant, doing absolutely nothing, till heading out to get small daughter in about 15 minutes, and then smallish outing with bunch of mates this evening (Mary Coughlan's singing at Lewisham Theatre, which is literally 10 mins walk from here). Saving Big Party for a Prime Number 41st next year (assuming that I'm feeling In My Prime by then).

Day very slightly marred by slipping and wrenching my pelvis this morning, exacerbating existing SPD; but in fact that just encouraged me to go back to bed and totter down only to receive flowers, presents etc from the longsuffering postmen, and eat part of the cake dp kindly gave me at 7 this morning. Am smothered in indulgent body-lotions donated by friends.

So far, not so bad at all. Nearly time to get out of my pyjamas...

Being pregnant on your 40th birthday must be a Gemini trait! Motherinferior like you I was preg on my 40th birthday too and what it means is you can't indulge in the usual champagne etc but I have made up for it since. My family did a surprise party for me in a Brighton restaurant, I thought I was going to have lunch with dh and 2 other people and I walked in to see them all there! It was very flattering but a bit of a shock for a minute or two (my mother was a bit worried the shock might start off the labour!). Anyway that was 7 years ago tomorrow!!
