My daughter has entered a Next modelling comp, please vote for her. The link is apps.facebook.com/nextonline/gallery/show_entry/141194 if any other mumsnetters have entered please let me know your entry number and I'll also vote for you.

I've voted for her kslatts - gorgeous smile. .

Please feel free to ignore the crappy and undeserved comments earlier on. Not sure what it's all about but don't spend as much time on here as I'd like - obviously some "in" joke.

Wallace · 13/11/2009 21:11

Hope you didn't mean me, kimi, I was only at myself.

I would vote steve too but I think that comp is bollocks...

Knickers0nMaHead · 13/11/2009 21:13

I havent seen the others. Didnt know someone got 300plus good comments. But then i dont agree with the my child is prettier than the rest shite.

Lilyloo · 13/11/2009 21:13

Roffle Wallace
Please take the time to look at Steve he is very 'mature' for his age!

SixtyFootDoll · 13/11/2009 21:13

I voted too OP
Not quite sure what is going on here, some people need to step away from the lap top

wannaBe · 13/11/2009 21:14

lilyloo personally think these threads should be banned as it's quite obviously cheating anyway. But clearly they're not, and if one poster gets favourable treatment and her child moves up the score as a result then why shouldn't others try the same tactic?

The op did nothing wrong. She merely saw that someone got lots of votes for her dd by posting here so she did the same. Who can blame her.

The ones in the wrong are the ones that voted in the first place, and have set a precedent.

GhoulsAreLoud · 13/11/2009 21:16

I'm not going to vote because child 'beauty' contests repulse me, frankly.

But I'm sorry OP that you've had such a harsh response.

EachPeachPearMum · 13/11/2009 21:20

It is a little unfair, and a rather harsh response, because kslatts is actually a regular mner, and I didn't recognise the others who asked... but I do think it's cheating so won't be voting I'm afraid.

dogstar · 13/11/2009 21:24

I've voted kslatts- hope she wins or whatever.

Lilyloo · 13/11/2009 21:28

But wannabe what about those with loads of fb friends who get them to vote , is cheating too.
Hence reason why original poster came here (who is an mner too)

Guess it was case of the first one to post the thread tbh
After that people got bored , not fair i agree but seems to be the case.

KimiTheThreadSlayer · 13/11/2009 21:32

NO not you wallace,

MannyMoeAndJack · 13/11/2009 21:40

Slight aside here but does anybody believe that the organisers of competitions such as these online voting jobs will allow the winner be somebody whom they do not want/find attractive/whatever? Are the votes independently checked and verified in any way? Genuinely curious...

BelindaCarlisle · 13/11/2009 22:26

what other one got a wholesome response?
if i had seens it id have said fuckez offez too

2shoes · 13/11/2009 22:31

I hate these threads, Had a look an the op's dd is beautiful
but I won't vote as I disagree with all this crap. wish mn would ban the threads tbh

DarrellRivers · 13/11/2009 22:32

Hate these threads and said the same on the last one

BelindaCarlisle · 13/11/2009 22:35

ChilloHippi · 13/11/2009 22:51

2shoes is right. The OPs daughter is lovely. There was no need to say otherwise.
But indeed these threads are tedious and should be banned.

edam · 13/11/2009 23:02

If Next are really going to us some of these kids as models, they sure as hell won't be paying any attention to public votes. They will pick the most attractive/photogenic/compliant kids. The ones that are easiest to work with and look 'right' for that particular job.

shockers · 13/11/2009 23:08

This is true...

kslatts · 13/11/2009 23:15

The reason I posted on here was because I have voted for other mumsnetters children in the past for different competitions, I didn't realise other people had already posted for this competition.

I'm sorry if I've upset anybody and completely expected some people to say they didn't want to vote for this type of thing, but was a bit shocked to be told to fuck off.

Thank-you to everyone who has voted.

Brink · 13/11/2009 23:27

ks, she is gorgeous! Can't believe how rude some people have been. You are a regular MNer, it's not like you just joined to get votes!
