To all the beautiful mumsnetters I know - grab that purple hat and forget the housework - life's too short for dusting!!!

Beautiful Women's Month

Age 3: She looks at herself and sees a Queen.

Age 8: She looks at herself and sees Cinderella.

Age 15: She looks at herself and sees an Ugly Sister Mum I can't go
to school looking like this!)

Age 20: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly"- but decides she's going out anyway.

Age 30: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, so she's going out anyway.

Age 40: She looks at herself and sees "clean" and goes out anyway.

Age 50: She looks at herself and sees "I am" and goes wherever she wants to go.

Age 60: She looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.

Age 70: She looks at herself &sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life.

Age 80: Doesn't bother to look Just puts on a purple hat and goes out to have fun with the world.

In my 40's but try and fix it does that make me deeply shallow.........

Surfermum · 07/06/2005 19:06

So true! I'm at the "clean" stage. And I fancy fast-forwarding to the purple hat!

Nemo1977 · 07/06/2005 19:08

i am also at the clean stage so obviosuly well ahead of my years im only 27

WigWamBam · 07/06/2005 19:28

I think I'll just skip to the purple hat and have done with it

Gwenick · 07/06/2005 20:01

I've been at the clean stage for 4 1/2yrs now.....and I'm only 26

paolosgirl · 07/06/2005 20:12

I love that story! Another one is "I don't want to grow old gracefully. I want to come skidding in at the end, glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, and yell 'what a life'!"

nutcracker · 07/06/2005 20:13

I am 26 but at the 30's stage.

MarsLady · 07/06/2005 21:45

Supposedly at the "clean" stage although I do try a bit harder than that most days. At least clean and tidy.

gossifer · 07/06/2005 22:10

thanks, put a big smile on my face, but made me think i'd maybe like a purple hat sooner!!

grumpymarthamoo · 07/06/2005 22:41

I like that. Needs another line though: Age 35, feels 95.
