Could I ask your opinions on an idea I have?

Could I ask you for your honest opinions?

Being a single Mum, it's the usual story - short of money [understatement!]

To cut a long story short, I've been considering having some of my photos printed and having a go at selling them, either framed or un-framed.
There's an oportunity coming up in a few weeks where I could hire a stall at the school fair.

Some examples of the photos I'm thinking of - flowers, sweets and glass are here - www.fotothing.com/Karen/

Any ideas, criticisms, suggestions would be most appreciated (before I lay out the printing money)

Thanks

They're GORGEOUS!

Here they are as a clickable link for lazy people

They're really lovely. Do you have a local gallery you can show them to?

hunkermunker · 06/06/2005 23:27

ML

Beat you!

hunkermunker · 06/06/2005 23:27

Would also suggest printing them onto things - T-shirts, keyrings, mugs, etc.

MarsLady · 06/06/2005 23:27

let's try again

you're welcome!

hunkermunker · 06/06/2005 23:29

ZZ, no worries - even seasoned MNers like ML have problems with links (and I do too, but SHHH! Don't want ML to know )

MarsLady · 06/06/2005 23:29

come on Hinker, keep up. Where are your manners? lol

MarsLady · 06/06/2005 23:30

I know that you put a gremlin in my links machine hinker lol

Newbarnsleygirl · 06/06/2005 23:31

They're lovely piccies.

How much would you charge for them Zipzip?

I quite like the last one.

Gwenick · 06/06/2005 23:31

They're beautiful photos - but be warned it's VERY hard selling photo's in today's market - it's flooded with LOTS of excellent photographers selling their stuff.

My dad started off trying to sell his own photo's and really struggled with it (never actually made profit on it) and ended up switching to photo restoration instead.

You could try making cards?? And has HM suggested putting them 'on' things - most of his sales came from Coasters.

zipzip · 06/06/2005 23:34

not sure what I'd charge.
If you saw a print you liked, A4 size, what would you want to pay?

Thanks for the ideas of coasters, mugs etc - just worrying about initial outlay.

I was thinking a bit bigger maybe next size up from A3.

I don't know what would you be thinking. I have no idea about things like this.

It would look very nice in my kitchen

Print your favourites off in 8x10 (or bigger) - have them done at the local photo shop and take them in to your local gallery to be framed.

Then ask if they'd be interested in selling them.
