Beagles!

My DS has been asking for a dog for some time now and is particularly keen on Beagles. Has anyone got one and, if so, do they make good family pets?

I think that applies to most breeds. Like people you get good ones and bad ones...s

Re Jack Russells - we've just spent the weekend with friends who were looking after one, and he completely changed my mind about the breed. My 2 yo ds crawled all over him and he was as patient as anything, and a really soft lap-dog.

Easy, our CKC is a tricolour and so was our previous one. They were hard enough to get hold of and I know the black & tans and rubys are even more unusual. Where we used to live, I often saw a man walking one of each - they looked so cute!
