Two 16 year old girls in London - where should they go?

I'm coming to London on Tuesday with the 2ds's - we are going to the Science Museum to see the Hitchhikers Guide exhibition, and dd and her mate are coming too but obviously don't want to spend the day with us.

Any suggestions for what they should do, where they should go? They are on a limited budget.

Shopping?

They might like Covent Garden - it has a nice buzz which they can enjoy without spending loads. Nice shops to browse in, street entertainment, pavement cafes to look cool outside!

i suggest they go to covent garden piazza to (window)shop - great range of shops there within a small area. usually some kind of street entertainment too. they could then wander down to somerset house and have a look at the fountains and the art exhibitions if they are interested. then they could walk over the bridge to the south bank - london aquarium, london eye, tate modern, globe theatre etc.

Teenagers love Camden Market.

Are you going to sneakily follow them everywhere anyway???!!!

Agree Camden is good esp for tenagers but not sure it's all that on a week day is it?????

Failing that..... yes Covent Garden is nice to wander around and soak up.

Carnaby Street?

London is so exciting when you're 16 - I used to love coming up on the train from SE London and getting off at Charing Cross and being engulfed by exciting, and sometimes, strange people and fab shops. Didn't need any money, just wandered, looking! Leicester Square, Covent Garden, The Strand, Piccadilly.

free london suggestions and the obvious touristy ones. Don't know if 'The London Pass' is any good - their transport advice looks sensible. Could spend a day in each of the museums if you like them. London eye is worth the money imho. And if all else fails, Harrods will keep them occupied :-). Hope you have a good day.

if they want to spend money then agree that Oxford Circus Top Shop would be good for them.

There's also Zara, mango, h&M, and then they could wander down Argyle St, opp Top shop entrance and past Liberty's and into carnaby St??

of they could walk all the way down Oxford St, towards Tottenham Court Rd, cross over by Centre Point and into Covent Garden???

Oh God - I'm getting nervous - they are going to get lost aren't they??

Top Shop on Oxford Circus keeps my gd occupied for hours at a time.

Agree re Covent Garden - wouldn't recommend Camden as gd has had some nasty moments there and she's that age - it can be a bot full on from what she says.

why not leave your mobile on and text them - just set to vibrate rather than ring?
