I'm just wondering really. I think dh and I are make the move next year. It's going to be a huge leap of faith and I'm excited and a little nervous of the prospect.

We're dead lucky in that DH's job (Uncle Sam) pays our rent so we spend the entire provision we get and as a result got a lovely big place.

However you don't have to spend a fortune to get a nice pad in the sticks. Some good letting agents in the area - Marc Allen / Maple lettings in Hungerford (our agent) www.marcallenproperties.co.uk/

Carter Jonas (They let out lots of crown properties and estate properties - really nice ones) www.carterjonas.co.uk/

We found lots of lovely places on prime location www.primelocation.co.uk

Ours is 4 bed, 2 bath, 2 garage tons of land and we spend £1100 pcm (but like I said we dont actually pay it) I'm not sure how big you need but when we were looking just in this village there are 2 beds for 500-600pcm 3 beds for 700pcm and so on. I was surprised actually how much more you got for your money than in Newbury - we were in Donnington.

I still travel to London 2 days a week in term time to lecture. Its a bummer but its still possible from here which is good. I do it more for me than anything else! You'd just love it out here honest!

Give me a shout if I can help any

hi sharklet, I am from wiltshire originally (devizes) and still have family there but would not move back. Too landlocked. Dp is avid windsurfer he wants to be able to hit the sea after work.

Hi Fennel - I know what you mean. I am from the devon coast originally and its the one thing I miss!

That's what we would like Sharklet.
We are going off the idea of a mortgage at the moment. We do loads better renting.
