Do you have ibuprofen instead - you'd have to drink a lot of Calpol to make up a 500mcg dose!

I think when i asked the same thing once, it was about 8 spoons! Tasted terrible after a few!

cheekysealion · 25/07/2009 22:21

no idea but it may soothe it and be quite helpful as it will pass the throat as you swallow and help in that way.. IYSWIM

Any answer will first of all depend on the strength of your Calpol. Is it 2 months plus or 6 years plus. The latter is more than double the strength of the former iirc.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 25/07/2009 22:23

Doesn't it say on the bottle?

cheekysealion · 25/07/2009 22:26

if it is 6 plus calpol the it says 2-4 spoons

the other one doesnt give an adult dose

blowninonabreeze · 25/07/2009 22:29

I've had to do this before! If its 2months plus calpol each 5ml spoon is 120 mg. So to get 1g paracetamol, you need to take 41 ml of calpol, roughly 8 spoons.

Enjoy!

Dumbledoresgirl · 25/07/2009 22:30

calpol 2 months plus is 120mg per teaspoon
calpol 6 years plus is 250mg per teaspoon

So it would depend on which one you have.

wrinklytum · 25/07/2009 22:32

Do you have any other painkillers at all.?

You would need quite a lot of paed calpol to make an adult dose.

trixymalixy · 04/08/2009 00:36

I have done this before and it was a hell of a lot of calpol, about 1/2 the bottle IIRC!!
