I read Malory Towers with Darrell and Felicity Rivers, Sally, Alicia, the hateful Gwendoline and the two Mam'zelles - or were they in the Twins at St Claires? I loved those too. Constantly on loan from the local library in rotation although I eventually got the Mallory ones. How I longed to go to their school with the 4 towers and the original infinity pool.

edodgy · 22/05/2005 21:12

cupcakes the 2 mam'zelles were in mallory towers m. dupont and the other one i cant remember, i loved those books and st. clares. i also loved the famous five, the secret seven and the five findouters books. ooh yeah and the enchanted wood and the magic faraway tree...oh the nostalga lol

pooka · 22/05/2005 21:15

I loved Dorita Fairlie Bruce, particularly the Dimsie books. Also Antonia Forest the Marlows and the Traitor), Malcolm Saville and all Angela Brazil. What a fantastic web-site. Have bookmarked for my birthday, am so sad that you can't borrow this type of book from my local libraries these days it's all teen titles now.

moondog · 22/05/2005 21:18

cupcakes..lol at mention of infinity pool!
Anyone remember the super sleuth double twin family, 'The Bobbsey Twins'? (Maybe not as they were American and introduced to me in the tropics by a mad missionary family.)

WideWebWitch · 22/05/2005 21:33

Hey, I had 3 hours browsing in a second hand book place today and flicked through a St Claire's Enid Blyton, twas most amusing!
