I saw the end of it, she is very posh! Hardly thought testing making eggy bread was stretching anyone, and funny that Jade thought the book was good cos it told her she would need a nightdress for hospital!

I saw her at the baby show a few years ago. She's is also ridiculoulsy thin. grrrrr jealous? me?

mouli · 06/05/2003 12:54

I've had her new book for a few weeks now, it is nice but not much more than common sense in most places. There are some interesting bits on what your baby can do each month and some good recipes...if you have loads of time on your hands!!
Eggy bread not very exciting or am I missing something?

grommit · 06/05/2003 13:30

The book is fine for anyone who wants to spend all day shaping their kids' food into little animals or smiley faces - life is too short!

Wills · 06/05/2003 13:54

Grommit - I'm in total agreement with you. Also being a working mum I prefer to create meals that we can all eat. DD is far better at eating food that she sees us eating. Of course it goes without saying that she will eat anything as long as it resembles fishfingers and chips and she can smell a vegetable at 10ft.

nappybrain · 06/05/2003 13:54

Is it just me? I have a couple of her books - which I do find useful for ideas - but they seem a bit dodgy when it comes to categorising recipes that are supposedly appropriate for a particular age? ds is about 6months behind when it comes to AK's recipes!

Jimjams · 06/05/2003 15:33

think it depends on teeth nappybrain. ds1 had a full set by the time he was 1 and kept up with her recipes. ds2 is way behind!

willow2 · 06/05/2003 15:54

Has anyone else noticed that you never see Annabel and Jackie Collins in the same place at the same time?

nappybrain · 06/05/2003 16:16

good point jimjams - ds kept us waiting on that score! i guess that could be why....

Bozza · 06/05/2003 17:08

I found my DS was in front nappybrain but he was on family meals by about 10 months - ie we adapted a bit and he fitted in with us. But he was an early teether so fits jimjam's theory. Personally thought a lot of the food a bit bland. Would significantly jazz it up and then serve to all 3 of us.
