Anyone getting their kids to do the sparrow survey?

RSPB are doing a sparrow survey between 3 & 11 May. This is basically to do with the sudden decline of the house sparrow. All you have to do is keep an eye on your garden and/or surrounding area to see if you see any house sparrows, if you do what was the most you saw at one time. My friend bought ds and dd a birdfeeder each for Christmas and ever since then they have shown great interest in our garden birds - just been onto RSPB website and I noticed this survey. I think I will get them to spend the weekend in the garden with their notebooks - what a cheap weekend
By the way survey can be found here

Hadn't heard about the sparrow survey although I am keen feeding birds and encourage the children in any interest they show. Will pop along to the link you made. Thanks.

My DD is really keen on birds in the garden as they have just done a project at school. However I would feel exceptionally cruel enticing more of our feathered friends into the garden as their gall bladders might end up on our playroom carpet the next day
