I get dd to 'fill up a colander' while I read novels. It keeps her busy for ages.

Is that bad?

I don't think so.

very inventive I'd say... sadly I lack imagination and just let mine watch TV all day

lol - I love it - I should try that sometime

If I want to get stuff done I often put the boys (4.5yrs and 17 1/2 months) in their bedroom to play - with the stairgate on and the monitor switched on - They COMPLETELY trash it - but it gives me some breathing time.

I was lolling in bed last Saturday, trying desperately to get my two to amuse themselves for a while (it was only 6.30am in my justification) and when I evenutally got downstairs I discovered the poor souls eating dry "Smash". Like feral cats scavenging!!!!!

yeah when dd was only 10 months old she learnt to open the cupboards empty and locate the nuts and raisons or a box of matzos and she was away!!!

I was proud that if I collapsed in a heap she wouldn't starve.
