Rubbing the armpits with bar soap usually works.

If you can handwash, pruni, you can machine wash, frankly. IME machine washing is actually better. Stick 'em in at 40 degrees (wool wash, lines under the 40) and see how you do!

Just a touch of vinegar can help also!
