Moving to Stafford - Children's holiday activities????

I have posted before as we are relocating to Stafford and got fantastic advice about what area's where nice etc,

We are moving to the saxonfields estate (Weeping cross) at the end of school term ( we are coming from Kent!) and trying to find some activities to get my 6 year old ds on. He will be starting barnfields school in the September but i would really like to get him to do stuff in the summer as if we were still here he would have had things to do 4 out of the 6 weeks, im already very guilty about taking him away from what he knows so just want to show him its fun there too!

Anyone from stafford out there who can help a worried mum!

Also i have ds2 who will be 2 in August so if anyone knows of Baby/toddler groups in the area that would be a great help

You will be about 5 minutes drive from my house - how strange!

Not sure of toddler groups over that way but have a friend on Baswich Lane so can ask her. I'm in a near by village and can let you know about the toddler groups in the village.

Quite a few of the local schools have holidays clubs and you don't have to go to the school to go to the clubs (will ask about for you). The council usually run activities during the holidays (although most of them are for older children) - they do a booklet of activites could try ringing the borough council to ask for it.

The forestry commision and staffordshire wildlife trust both run childrens activities in the holidays on cannock chase.

Will keep my eyes open for things for you. School normally send a load of flyers home in the last week of school so might get some more ideas then.

Loler, How Weird!! - Thanks for the information, Wonder if we will un knowling bump into each other!! Will give the council a call tomorrow. We are going to view the school in a few weeks so will also ask them of anything they are aware off x
