Any photography experts out there care to cast an eye over this?

Friend of DH and I have sent us a lovely picture of our family they took whilst visiting.

Not sure what kind of camera they had but I was really struck by how lovely all their shots were, particularly this one. Can anyone tell me how and why they've achieved such a good picture?

What is it about the light, or is it their camera that has delivered something that looks far better than the average amateur snap?

It's the last one on my profile which I've just uploaded.

Thanks.

Lovely pics.

I've just bought a Nikon D90 after months of research(got left some money), it's taken dp and I 2 nights to read the manuel but now we've fathomed it out we had a play and verrrrry impressed. I took one of dp on the sofa at 11.30pm on auto to test out and it was super.

Very excited(I know I acknowledge I do need to get out more).

I got a Crumpler bag to cart it round, isn't too bag sizewise sort of handbag size but then I don't have a nappy bag anymore

I had a Nikon Coolpix point and shoot before and was very impressed with that too.
