In a flurry of excitement at the nice weather yesterday I pulled my new wedges out of the wardrobe for a little stroll into town

Unfortunately for my feet it ended up being a loooooooong walk instead, I thought my feet were a little sore when we got back from the wedges being a bit flip-floppy, but as the evening went on I developed a humungous blister on the bottom of each heel!

Had to burst them last night [bleurgh] and let them get a little air, but at work today I have no option but to wear shoes so have put savlon on them and plastered them up.

But I'm in mucho pain if I put my heels on the floor so am currently walking like I've crapped myself.

What's the quickest way to get rid before I start getting funny looks???

Get some Compeed. They are like an extra layer of thick skin so they are much better than plasters. As someone who has suffered thousands of blisters for the sake of lovely shoes I have tried lots of things and these are the most effective!

Should I keep them covered all the time or do they need airing?

The Compeed soaks up the yuck so they sort of dry the blisters out. But I would try to air them as much as possible if you can, but if they're broken then make sure you keep them clean. Wash them in a hot bath as that tends to dry them up too. It will hurt but it's worth it!

Thanks loads for the tip! I managed to find some scholl blister jobbies like the compeed ones, and am now amazingly in no pain, and no longer walking in an odd fashion!

Good to hear! They are the best thing for blisters.
