I'm in the middle of doing jury service this week.

First day was boring, lots of hanging about before jury was chosen. It was a bit daunting as you didn't know what the case was and what was involved.

After we were chosen and the trial started it got interesting.
I guess it depends on the case, the case I'm on isn't gruesome, so it's not been bad at all. It has been interesting but at the same time can be a bit monotonous when they go over the same thing again and again.

There can be a lot of hanging about, It never seems to start on time, so yes take a book along with you just incase. I took one for the first couple of days then didn't bother as I didn't read it, as the other jurors are friendly and we chat.
I also have some mints, someone suggested taking some sweets to suck.

Lunch is good as well

I was really worried about going but now that I've been along and got picked, if I got a citation again in the future I wouldn't be overly worried as I'd have an idea of what to expect.

Lots of hanging around. And I was shocked by the casual and over racism expressed by my fellow jurors.

Oh, me too! Where are you going for yours? (you probably don't want to tell me, that's fine!) It wouldn't be boring if we were at the same one at the same time and could make reference to MN for 2 weeks!

I enjoyed doing jury service, I found it really interesting.

Lots of hanging about but you get an allowance for food and drink. I drank lots of tea!

Take a book/newspaper/crossword book, something you can pick up and put down easily as you seem to do a fair bit of to-ing and fro-ing.

The jury I got picked for was a really good bunch, we had a laugh and I think made good decisions. Quite a responsibility though.
