Can anyone think of a cowboy character from book?

Hi, my ds has to wear costume of a character from a book for school next week. He really wants to wear his cowboy costume but I can't think of any cowboy characters. Anybody know of any??????

Was lone ranger and billy the kid characters from books?

i had this problem when my DS had to dress as a character from a book for nursery, i think most books originate from films or tv programmes, so could he go as woody from Toy Story.

Seriously, there's a picture book that was published a year or two ago about a cowboy, with pictures by someone like Lauren Child. If I can remember any more useful info like errr, the title I'll let you know.

If you wanted to go another way you could do The Brave Cowboy or TinTin

The school did ask if we could bring in the book as well, I was going to see if I could lay my hands on a woody book from the shops, but with all those cowboy books from Amazon I might as well order one from there. Handy really 'cos I can't be bothered to hunt round the shops.

My ds is under 5 by the way.
