Does anyone know how to find out if a collectable is worth money?

I have got two toy cars which I think are collectables, they were once given to me as a present.

I am wondering how to find out if they are worth any money as I am not really into collecting things and could do with some money instead.

I was thinking of selling them on ebay, but cannot find anything similar and suppose there are websites for this sort of thing...

what are they?

sorry I know nothing about these little cars but I'll give it a go...

one is made by Maisto, it is a black voltswagon golf, GTI. It is a special edition, and still in the box. Its an old one, not sure how to find out how old or if there is a model number or anything.

The other one is a green voltswagon golf also old, and it has a number plate, so maybe that is the model number? It is not in the box.
