Do you use nicknames to describe sexual organs to your toddlers?

Forgive me if you think i'm being quite rude and vulgar asking that.

But although I live in England with my english husband I'm not english and I need some help to understand a bit of your culture.

I would like to know if you normally use any cute nicknames instead the words "vagina" and "penis" when you are talking to your toddlers.

If so, which nicknames are they?

I know they will soon learn the proper names of the sexual organs but until then, is there any suggestions?

I call my ds's penis his 'willie'. I think that's quite a standard one. There is a thread all about this somewhere. It was active a couple of months ago, I'll try to find it. It was informative and quite comical too!!

Can't you ask your 'English husband'

I use the words penis and vagina with my daughters, but my partner says "willy" for penis and when I was a child, we called my vagina my "botty", but I like the idea of being at ease using the correct words, don't you ?

"Willy" for a penis and "Mini" for a Vagina

We use , 'willy' for the boy and 'bits' for the girl. Don't like bits, but can't think of anything better. Can't stand 'front bottom'.

hi marcia,why dont you just called them like in your own language im spanish and we call them pilila for willie chichi for vag. and culo for bottom that way they wont embarrash you in public,my son told my husband in a restaurant that he was going to punch his pilila and nobody knew what he was talking about or i prefer if he says in a very loud voice in the supermarket that he`s got an itchy culo!!

As we've got 2 boys we only get to use 'wiggly' or 'willy' although it more the latter that we use. If they see me when I'm naked then I have a 'middle' or 'mini' and 'boobies'.
Everyone has a 'bum' to our boys, and me although some peolple find that a bit rude.

I've got 2 boys and we seem to have settled on "bits" as a catch all phrase for now - not sure how or why TBH! AT 2, DS1 did call my breasts "special milks" when he watched me feeding DS2 but thankfully did not use this phrase in public and seems to have forgotten it!

everything else is botty 'down there' (except whe DS asked what 'these little balls are in my body...)

penis was "fish"..dont know how that came about cant remember ...however the potential funny circumstances are neverending

I think "willie" is quite standard now, isn't it? I loved "mini" and "fairy" and I laughed about the "fish"!

In my language, there're hundreds names for "penis & vagina", and 'whymummy' gave me a good idea using foreign names too. :-)

Whymummy, I'm brazilian and I talk portuguese.

For vagina, we can use: vagina, borboleta, pombinha, xaninha, piriquita, xana, menininha, etc. etc.

For penis: penis, pipi, pipiu, bilau, pipico, pintinho, etc. etc.

For bum: bumbum, bundinha, popo
