a packet of screws, or a hammer ?! My DH would be really pleased with that (but then he is odd )

flashingnose · 27/04/2005 14:21

My overflowing ironing basket?

compo · 27/04/2005 14:21

ooh do you know what three years is?

morningpaper · 27/04/2005 14:21

Give him a voucher saying you'll do all his ironing for a month!

Titania · 27/04/2005 14:22

eek..its my 6th coming up too!! whens yours?

zubb · 27/04/2005 14:24

There is also a 'modern' list that I found and on that the 6th is wooden objects.
Compo 3 is traditionlly leather, but on the 'modern' list is crystal / glass.

Here's a list of anniversary meanings
lol at the ironing voucher - unfortunately I already do all the ironing...

Titania · 27/04/2005 14:25

ooh mines the 8th!

clary · 27/04/2005 14:26

Compo three years is leather so not too hard.
Iron is a really tough one. My sister got given an iron by her DH!
I got mine one of those cast-iron grilly things but it was a present for me really.
If not somethign kitcheny or DIY-ey (or like mornignpaper?s idea) how about something for the garden? Cast-iron planter or similar?

cupcakes · 27/04/2005 14:27

we got married on a Wednesday which I suppose is a bit unusual - but if it had been the Saturday we would have been the same!

Titania · 27/04/2005 14:28

buy HIM an iron to do YOUR ironing for a year! lol

JoolsToo · 27/04/2005 14:28

iron tablets?

larlylou · 27/04/2005 14:29

the modern wedding anniversary gift for 6 years is wood - a bit easier to buy for I'd say! 3 is leather for traditional or crystal/glass for modern.

cupcakes · 27/04/2005 14:29

Luckily I have just bought a new iron so I needn't worry about being given that as a gift!
Dh really wants a cploured dualit toaster - do you think there's any way I can pretend that's iron?

OP posts:
morningpaper · 27/04/2005 14:30

does he like golf?

cupcakes · 27/04/2005 14:30

love the iron tablets!!

cupcakes · 27/04/2005 14:31

red wine, it's full of it

hannahsaunt · 27/04/2005 17:14

Got my dh a cast iron griddle for making pancakes etc. He got me a rather nice cat arching it's back iron - not really ornament people but we've both really taken to this.

SoupDragon · 27/04/2005 17:30
