Taking 6 boys for a day out instead of Party ?

My nearly 6 year old has his b-day coming up and having had 5 years of fun and games in the garden is ready for something different. He's not too fussed about a big do and can narrow it down to 6 in total for a nice day out. Definately not legoland type place, as far too expensive/stressful. Any ideas that won't cost the earth welcome .... He loves outdoors stuff (Alice Holt etc) but am looking for something that will be new to him. Pref so we can take a picnic lunch with us.We are nr Leatherhead, surrey. What have other people done ???

Have you got any Woodlans Trust woodlands nearby? Somewhere they can climb trees, get muddy, make dens. Then take a picnic lunch.

A treasure hunt is always good. Wrap the 'treasure' in different coloured paper for each boy so they all have something to find.

I will have a look for you on their website.

Okay, Messymumwith2, it may well be that you are not aware of this but it is only polite that you should come back to a thread you started and thank the people for their help.

It may start to look a tad rude otherwise.

Cotswolds Wildlife Park is great. If you get there just before lunch you can have a picnic in the fields by the car park then go in and see animals, ride on train, play in great adventure playground. Its a good size for walking round and has some unusual animals and a nice, chilled out atmosphere, quite unlike my experience of Legoland!
