Just a quick note to say that Dh has got back to the country following his posting to the Gulf. He isn't home yet (as if I'd be posting to Mumsnet if he was ), but he is back in the country, and should be home sometime this afternoon.

I just want to thank all the members of mumsnet who gave me so much support, it helped a huge amount. I enjoyed the discussions that we had very much.

Seahorse, I hope that your dh is hope as soon as possible. And to all the other Mumsnetters who had family or friends in the Gulf I hope they get back soon.

I'm glad hmb ... must have been an awful few weeks for you ... give him a good welcome won't you

EmmaTMG · 18/04/2003 12:20

Everytime I see reunited families on the news it brings a tear to my eye at how brave our service men and ladies are. Over the recent weeks it has struck me at how brave the loved one left behind are too. I struggle if DH is late home from work, always thinking something awful has happened so to all waiting Mumsnetters I admire you and and am so happy that your men are coming home safe and sound.

Really pleased for you, hmb. Have thought of you often over the past few weeks & hoped all was well. xxxxx

My BIL will be out there for a few more months he thinks, as he is now involved in the humanitarian aid effort, but he'd rather that than go to Bosnia which is where he was supposed to go next.

Glad to hear he's home safe and well

Wonderful news hmb, just in time for Easter. I too have enjoyed seeing the pictures of reunited services families in the press and am glad it has now happened for you! Happy Easter!

Great news - have a really good easter. My dh is hopefully back end May!

Lets hope there's no need for any similar mumsnet discussions...

SoupDragon · 20/04/2003 16:38

I've just heard that my brother is coming back... unfortunately they don't have a plane to fly them home!

How's your week been hmb?

hmb · 26/04/2003 16:41

Wonderful thank you Soup Dragon! I managed to fit in a day at a Spa (last years X-mas present that I hadn't collected!) And I also did lots of stuff towards my PGCE, that would have taken me ages if Dh wasn't home. And lots of time with him and the kids, doing family stuff!

Typical that there was no air craft.......that is why I call it the Air Farce!

Apparently, they may have to "hitch" home to Mildenhall with the Americans!

Your week sounds marvellous - much better than mine and my DH is here all the time! Sigh. I still have a "day at the Sanctuary" voucher to use up so I'm jealous that you've had a spa day!

katierocket · 26/04/2003 21:03

hmb, I followed your previous thread and wanted to say really good news that he's back, whenever I listened to the news and they talked about RAF pilots I always thought of you!

hmb · 26/04/2003 21:59

Oh, you will love the Sanctuary. I did it years ago before we had kids, and it is fantastic. I had my best ever back massage there.
