how old were you when your parents stopped buying you a birthday present?

My dad stopped when he left my mum - I think he's not organised enough to work out when my birthday is!!

I'm 37 - my Mum always asks me what I would like and then forgets to buy anything or she says she'll pay for me to have my hair cut or something and then never gets round to giving me the money..... Still, it's the thought that counts isn't it?
