Do you have panic attacks when you go past grave yards then?

TuckInYourShirt · 25/03/2009 13:01

You won't want to come to Italy then, we're always having to go and look at dead people.

At least he's in a coffin- imagine how you'd feel if he'd died and no-one had found him for a week...... That'd drip on your laminate floor.

PheasantPlucker · 25/03/2009 13:03

It's not like the dead man is in your flat is it?

PheasantPlucker · 25/03/2009 13:03

LOL Bucharest!

nickytwotimes · 25/03/2009 13:04

It's only a dead person.
It comes to us all.

TuckInYourShirt · 25/03/2009 13:05

oh my wew!!!!!! i ve only ever been to 1 funeral in my life!!!! maybe im just not used to it! the family is really nice and i really dont mean it disrespectful but it is making me nervous!!!!! i thought the body was only kept in the house if it was being buried not cremated?? im probs just naive!

why on earth are you freaked out? you need to be frightened of the living, not the dead !

the dead man is in a coffin, in a seperate flat with ceilings and floors between you

get a grip

ArcticLemming · 25/03/2009 13:06

As an ex-nurse it wouldn't bother me, but think a lot of people would feel like that in this day and age. We're very removed from the process of death in this culture. If OP had been brought up in Italy it would be just part of life.

CharleeInSpring · 25/03/2009 13:07

I would fell a little freaked out tbh, i often park outside our hospital and sometimes there is only one space which is outside the undertakers and everytime i park there they will be hauling a corpse in a bodybag out or in. Try not to think about it if you can, im sure his fueral will be soon.

If its any consolation DP is uber freaked out about death and corpses and wont go near a graveyuard or underakers.

Very much agree with those saying we are very removed from death nowadays.
Also agree with lulu that we should be afraid of the living, not the dead!

I can certainly unederstand how you're upset at hearing them talking to him. It would feel like you're (unwittingly) eavesdropping on a very private and personal moment.

TuckInYourShirt · 25/03/2009 13:12

yeah, especially at 2 am!!!!!!! they were so loud last night i nearly had to go up and ask them to shh!!! they woke ds and he wouldnt go to sleep and its been for a few nights now.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 25/03/2009 13:12

I would be a bit freaked out by this actually but I think it is because I have watched too much Buffy and now have a deep distrust of coffins.

OrmIrian · 25/03/2009 13:12

The fact that he is dead and unlikely to hurt you or your DS should be a comfort . Now if you'd said there was a man with a big axe and a grudge against women with small children I would sympathise.

TuckInYourShirt · 25/03/2009 13:14

lol no a body is better than an axe lol
