We're looking to upgrade our cars and are thinking off a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a BMW 5 Series. The problem is we need to know if they can fit three car seats in the back. We are currently using two Maxi Cosy Tobi's and will need to add to that a baby seat (Mamas and Papas Primo Viagio).

Any help would be very much apreciated.

you cannot fit three full child seats in the X5 (not within safety guidelines anyway), that I know for sure as we have one. I investigated this a while back for my friend who was expecting twins (and already had one DC). She opted for the Ford S Max and has been very happy with it (previously a BMW driver).
I don't know what the Maxi Cosy Tobi is but if it's a booster style you would be abel to fit it in the rear of the X5 so if you got a seven seater version you could fit everyone in.

Volvo? Honda? Range Rover? Or go for an estate.
