Do you ever wonder how many people must use MN for market research/stories/to see how their PR is doing...?

I think you're spot on, personally. I mean, there has never been such free access to what people think before as you get in forums like this.

I don't know what you're talking about.

There was a thread about Cadbury's dairy milk going fair trade the other day and within a very short time someone from the company was there inviting people to visit their blog.

Did I miss you being excessively wise somewhere, Pruners?

Are you on the oil cleansing mission, Pruners? I saw that thread and am giving it a go...

DO you think Greggs and the Fruit Shoot people are monitoring to see if MN is having a bad effect on their sales?

Absolutely, I always worry that I sound like I'm being paid for it when I'm banging on about my latest consumer discovery (I'm not, sadly).

Couldn't agree more. I've often thought the same.
Also, sceptical about things like Amazon book reviews. Saw 12 glowing reports on a book giving 5/5 each. Checked the review history of the posters - all had just posted one review - each completely full of praise, not one hint of criticism, well done to the author etc...
lots of this going on now i reckon!
