because I have a sneaking suspicion I am going to look a bit of a twat. I found this dress, tried it on, loved it mum loved it, knew when i saw it I would love it....

Then I got a bit tipsy on an evening out and showed Dp, on my mobile and he said 'Isn't it a bit wide?' also he wasn't keen on me having a train and tbh I wasn't sure I should either.

We're going for a civil ceremony for about 40 of our friends and family, probably in a hotel or a lovely riverside pub we've seen.

I'll be 29 by then and am tall, WILL be a size 12 by then (again) I have a stone to loose by the dress fitting ...

here is the dress

It will be minus the sleeves. Am I going too OTT as a getting on a bit mother of two whose originally 'small' wedding is getting bigger by the day?!?

That's gorgeous!

i think it's lovely very classy. and not too wide at all - from that comment i was expecting a proper jordan-style toilet roll cover!

I'm not really a fan of wedding dresses, but that one is really nice actually.

Flossish · 19/03/2009 16:45

Thank you all for being so nice!!

i have prepared myself for a MN bashing of the dress so so far this is lovely!

I did try to wind DP up about the dress, that it was like Jordans (only in the fact that it has those swvarski crystals on it!), I showed him a picture of jordan's just before mine so you should have expected him to breath a big sigh of relief really!

It is lovely Floss and congratulations!!

He won't be looking at the dress on the day - he'll be gazing into your eyes!!!

It's lovely and if you think so and feel a million dollars in it then go for it!!

Congratulations!

Beautiful! Get it.

Flossish · 19/03/2009 17:01

Oh that is beautiful!

The felicity dress is so similar to a dress I fell in love with only about a week before DP proposed (I had no idea it was coming!) which is why it seems the 'right' dress, and on as well.

I'd never even thought of taking Dp to try dresses on!! I shall ask him if he'd want to!

MS dresses seem to be really well made and the lace up back was so much better than others I've tried.

Lol benfmsmum! I'm not sure he won't be too nervous to look anywhere!

It is a very lovely dress. I wish I was getting married now rather than 8 yrs ago though, as I'd definitely get a different dress - I'd buy a colouroful designer number that I really could wear again rather than my lovely, very wedding-y number which I can't do anything with.

Congrats and good luck!
