Stopping International sales calls (before I lose the plot entirely)

We recently moved here and have had persistent calls from an Indian call centre asking for a Mr Wells.

I have no idea what they want, I am not and never have been Mr Wells, and it's getting worse - they tried three times this pm when I was collecting ds from school.

The number comes up as 00000000 which means I have stopped answering it - but it happens when I am really busy or the baby has just got to sleep or something, which drives me bats.

I know the TPS doesn't stop them, we're registered with them already - I've tried asking them to remove me from their list but they don't understand and just keep on with the 'Oh fgs it's only a minute of your time' until I hang up

Has anyone got any ideas to stop the feckers? I think our new number is a recycled one tbh, possibly a repossessed number by the tone of the calls!!

Thanks

we got these too.... tell them that Mr Wells is dead - it might stop them... it did in our case

Oh really?

Ok worth a try isn't it!

I told them he didn't live here, they just started asking about ME then and whether I own or rent...it was awful. He got so rude I ended up hanging up.
