My DD noticed this on a packet of crisps

"No MSG"

It is written together with info like "suitable for vegetarians" ...

What does MSG stand for?

tis the horrid stuff that alot of processed and fast food has in it to make you want more

Its in a lot of chinese food and smoe people have a reaction to it.

Its a sort of flavour enhancr

it's a flavour enhancer, but does not always have to be chemical.

MSG can have a natural base, too, and so even if a product is marked with "natural flavourings" it will still probably have MSG in it. Pears are a common source of natural MSG, I believe.
