Please don't tell me I'm turning sentimental in my old age

Went shopping on Saturday. Just DS#2 and me. DD was riding, DS#1 'out' with his friends. Out of the blue DH turned up and we mooched around town enjoying the sensation of only having the one and being able to lavish attention on him. Spents ages in Wilkinsons looking at all the plastic tat (he had b'day money to spend). And all of a sudden I felt so painfully nostalgic for all those things that we've done a million times before with all of the ours. Endless Saturdays hanging around while they choose plastic tat was always a favourite . Now I only have one that thinks going to the shops with mum and dad is a desirable activity and I felt quite sad. Where does the time go?

Orm

You wouldn't have been feeling quite so nostalgic if you'd seen me and DH with our boys in Asda yesterday, let me tell you.

I needed a lie down in a darkened room afterwards.

Ha no probably not lizzy. But that was the point, twas only one so it was easy and lovely. If all three had been there it would have been a long few hours of simmering resentment and colliding egos

I just wonder why this sort of thing hits me out of the blue though. Most of the time I can only see them getting older as a positive thing and I'm enjoying them as they are now. I never thought I'd miss toy shopping.
