Keep the little plastic cups off the flight. Great for stacking, water play, driving around...

A toy steering wheel and staring at all the other passengers did my ds at the same age.

A little plastic pot/box with buttons, small plastic animals, matchbox cars, stones etc. And you can't go wrong with a small pot for putting things in and taking them out again!

Bumptobabies, we took ds1 away at 16 months and my advice is to take a whole suitcase of toys. We only took a few and ds1 got very bored. We learnt the hard way!

BTB - we're going to Turkey in a couple of weeks too! Where are you going?

Whenever we go on hols I hide the toys I'm going to take for dd (23m) for a week or so before, then when she gets them on holiday it's like she's getting them for the first time.

When we went to Majorca she spent most of the flight taking the in flight magazine and sick bag out of the seat pocket and putting the tray thing up and down. Thankfully my BIL was sat in front of us. The flight went remarkably quickly as I was dreading it too, but she was fine. A drink for take off and landing so their ears don't pop is a good idea.

BTB - no what are those mats?

We are about 45 mins away from Marmaris - little place called Akyaka. So excited to be going away too - first 'proper' holiday since DS born nearly 3 years ago!
