Anyone ever organised / taken part in a pet show?

My friend is about to organise a pet competition as part of a church/village fete.

The local vet has agreed to come and judge the competition, but we haven't got much further than that.

Has anyone any nuggets of advice about the practicalities? The thought of 50 small furry animals keeling over in cages in the middle of June is a mite worrying!

hi polly. we have a pet show every year at our village gala. it is arranged so every one turns up and the same time and stays with their pet. the judging and prizes get done over an hour, hour and half and thats it finished, so everyone then takes their pets home.
there is usually 3 catagories for dogs depending on dog size. cat section. rabbit and guinea pig section. and anything else section.
and they usually have a best pet of the show prize too
