So, anyone live there? What's it like? Schools, dd is in reception? Nurseries, childminders? Any areas to avoid? Any info really welcome.

Bumping for you as this was soon to drop out of unanswered.

Was in Saturday Guardian supplement last week as "Where to Move to" - if you can get hold of a copy. Can't remember much other than it's property prices are falling disproportionately compared to other areas (not sure why), the good primary schools are faith based (rated "good", one secondary was "good and improving"). HTH!

Lovely. I LOVE Whistable. You might be better off looking a little further down the coast to Herne Bay as it's cheaper (unless of course you ahve loads of money). It's close enough to Canterbury that I would have thought you could look at Canterbury secondary schools. I am very, very .

Don't know anything about the schools etc. but we've had a couple of lovely days out there! There's a great clothes shop where I bought some beautiful clothes for dd.

That doesn't help you at all, does it, but at least it's bumped up your message.

I live in Herne Bay,next door to Whitstable.
The town is very up and coming, with some lovely properties,as with any town is has its bad areas, but not many, lovely little shops in the high street and a huge tescos on the outskirts.
The schools round here are pretty good, but as another poster said, the faith schools are best but highly over subscribed,at senior level 4/5 grammar schools are within easy distance and whitstable has its own high school.
Lovely part of the country to live but it can be very quiet and boring for teenagers, really not much for them.
