Large fox in garden - safety of toddler

As the warmer weather approaches my dd (2.6) likes being in the garden. However an unusually large fox about the size of an alsation dog frequently visits our garden. Can foxes be dangerous?

Fox poo is very very smelly, especially when trodden in by a small child

Foxes won't come near a toddler though, they're very wary of humans.
