Is there anyone else here who can't ride a bike?

I admitted this to a friend this afternoon and, apart from being surprised about my failing (caused by poor balance), was surprised that I had admitted it, and wondered whether people generally admitted it if they can't ride a bike. Of course, it's nicely anonymous here, but I do admit it freely, if the subject comes up. I don't carry a placard or anything!

Anyone else out there? And, is there hope for me? Could I learn to ride a bike at the grand old age of 36 (assuming my balance has improved!)?

This post has inspired me to start my "things to do before I'm 40" list!!!

OK,

ride a bike
ride a horse
another charity run (not a marathon, perhaps 10k)
...hhmmm

Ponygirl (and others), I couldn't ride a bike and had tried and tried - centre parcs and other holidays but all that happened was i that would shout at dh for 'not teaching me properly'. Last year, dh found out about the people DickWhittingtonsCat mentioned and I had two one hour sessions with them followed by lots of very embarrassing practice on my own and now I can can ride a bike. Like my driving - it isn't very good or confident but I can balance and move and go four about 45minute rides on relatively flat roads with little traffic.

It was one of the things I really wanted to be able to do before I hit 40 and I am very glad I did it, so to anyone else who is tempted, go for it! here is a link

I can't ride a bike - we lived on areally bust road and so I wasn't allowed. Can't drive a car - I do have a license but am so crap I'm a danger to others. Can't ride a horse - would love to but get vertigo.

Can ring for a cab though.

Sorry - busy road - can't spell either....

Not very good at bike riding either. Went to Center Parcs couple of years ago, prior to that had last ridden bike about 20 years ago. Dh kept pretending he wasn't with me, kept saying nobody can be that bad! And insisted on videoing me frequently for posterity! Can't ice skate without holding on to the side, can roller skate a bit better but am a bit of a wuss (sp?) about it really

My next challenge is to learn to ice skate (have never tried roller skating either) - maybe we should organise a mass learn to skate event!

Hey, sis, how are you? Have not been around much here but don't think you have either. Hope all is going well in new job and also with your ds (don't want to name names online!)
