Engagement, wedding and eternity rings (which way round)

Just wondered if they should be any particular way round, from the base of my finger I have my wedding ring, then engagement the eternity, someone told me that this was the wrong way round and they had to be a certain way or else bad luck. I was told this today so it could be an April's fools joke, but just wondered anyway. Thanks

Not sure about eternity, but wedding ring should definately be before engagement - it's more important so closer to your heart. Aaahh

I wear my wedding ring, engagement ring then eternity ring in that order. That's the way they fit best and spin around least.

I have wedding then engagement and my eternity (or maternity as I prefer to call it) ring is actually on my other hand (not shaped to fit round engagement ring)

I wear my wedding ring, then eternity ring, then my engagement ring, for no reason other than they fit better on my finger that way!!

I didn't get an engagement ring (sniff ) but have two eternity rings, does that count?

I,ve outgrown mine

My eternity ring took an eternity to arrive. I'd hinted at it for my 30th birthday, my last child, my 10th wedding anniversary and finally got it 2 years ago as a christmas present. Not the ring that I would have chosen but a welcome surprise.

Well, as my husband discovered talking to the jewellers (who made our engagement and wedding rings) an eternity ring comes after first five years of marriage or the first baby!, But as to the order you wear them - I believe that wedding ring goes on first, then you put on your engagment ring (which was on the other hand during the wedding) and this "holds it in place forever" or something cheesy like this. The eternity ring usually sits inbetween wedding and engagement rings...

p.s. ask a jeweller to place two "beads" inside the ring and this stops them spinning around (or just don't lose the pregnancy weight - that also works...)

Eternity ring???? I've been hinting, but dh just says, 'You can have a ring if I can have a watch'. The one he wants is £2000, which is way too much post-ds. I have seen loads of rings that are only about £300, as I only want a really slim one, but never mind. It's not the same if you have to ask for it is it!

I wonder if I'm the only woman on earth who refuses to wear a wedding ring because, when I do so, I feel 'owned' and I don't like that feeling.

On the other hand I love rings and would love dh to get me a really nice ring. I am hard to please, aren't I?

I'm the same as you Soupdragon, I wear my eternity ring on the other hand, it fits ok with my wedding and engagment rings but I've got quite small hands and if I wear them together they fit right up to my knuckle and it really uncomfortable.
By the way they are by no means massive 5 carat rocks, it really is just a little hand problem.
