Anyone know any good child friendly cafe's in London?

I love nothing more than going out for a coffee (and cake unfortunatley for my waste line) on the weekend but find it hard to take my ds (14 mths) as he gets bored so easily. Can anyone recommend any good cafe's that are very child friendly with things to entertain the kids. Saves me taking a bag of toys each time.

Does anyone else feel guilty when their child has food scattered through half the restaurant. I find myself on my hands and knees trying to clean it all up before I leave.

Ottakers bookshop in Putney (in the Exchange Centre) is very child friendly and Dexters on the Upper Richmond Road (near East Putney tube) is also very child friendly - there is a non-smoking area and they provide colouring in and kiddies menus...hope that helps!

I agree, Ottakers is excellent, the staff at the Costa in there fawn all over my dd whenever we go in there! For a really nice lunch (or dinner, they allow kids in the eves as well I believe) try The Victoria in West Temple Sheen in Sheen, it's a really good gastropubby type place and they are really child friendly.

Thanks for all your tips. I'll try them out and let you know what I thought.
