Giving blood tonight, am I ok to go to an aerobics class immediately beforehand, do you think?

Have an appointment for giving blood at 7.30 tonight but I have a regular exercise class that finishes at 7.

I'm a potential fainter when giving blood with no food inside me so usually have tea before I go, but obviously cannot do that if I'm going to bounce around at class for an hour.

If I zoomed from class I could get parked at the blood place hopefully about 7.15 at the latest. I could grab a McD burger (I know, I know, but it's directly opposite and quick and warm and plenty of calories for faint-avoiding) wolf that down and be at my appointment for 7.30. By the time I'm ticked of the list and sat down to be needled it will be at least 7.45.

Will the food be in my system by then? I don't really want to skip class but I will if it will avoid me keeling over later.

Anybody know?

I think natural fruit juice gets your blood sugar up fastest. I remember reading that it was the thing to give diabetics if they got hypo.

Oh, your schedule is absolutely fine. eating 15 minutes before is perfect. I'd take a banana to your class as well and scoff that as soon as the class is over to start the process.

Oooh yes fruit/juice a good idea, thanks
