i have one but it came free with my phone and it is very small and discreet. A mum at our school has one that threatens to overtake her face and has it on permanently.

for the record I have no stocks or shares am not a surgeon on call, but am desperately trying to hang onto every thread of a life outside SAH-ness, so prefer not to miss calls - but true

FWIW: Sony Ericsson /Akono HBH-660 - great battery life and works a treat with Skype and enables me to listen to the Archers via BBC radio player while cooking dinner (having missed the episode earlier when putting DCs to bed)

What's wrong with your postman having one?
If he's walking around all day with his hands full of mail and his office need to call or his wife, or his mum, or whoever the hell wants to call him, what's wrong with him receiving or making a call on his rounds?

Jesus, I'd go mad if i didn't take or make a personal call now and then at work.

I sometimes have to make personal calls, to the hospital to make appts for Lottie, to her school and so on, things that can only be done in office hours.

What';s over the top about one of those ear things (which by the way I don't actually own' but if you're hands are full of people mail then you'd need a ear thing to use the phone.

teachers at my ds's school do occasionally use their phones/take calls in class even though a circular came out to all parent helpers that their phones must be off

OMG, teachers on mobiles in class is so bad! It would be like me using my phone in a client meeting, but worse. Wrong, wrong, wrong. That is taking things too far.
