Our video player has broken (I blame little fingers!) - should I buy a new one or embrace new technology?

We've still got quite a few videos as they're so cheap from charity shops, but I suppose we can replace the ones we really love. Trouble is, our dvd player is a bit temperamental and sticks at scratches (caused by 3yo's little fingers). Is it because it's a cheap one, or do other people have this problem too?

My hope, eventually, is to get a dvd player with a recordable hard drive but can't afford that right now.

Or should I just get rid of the tv altogether? Dp often threatens to do this so would love to see his face if I said OK.

We still use our Video player occasionally. We do still have alot of videos but I'm trying to replace all the things we watch with DVDs. If ours broke I dont think I would replace it straight away. I'd wait and see how long we managed without it. HTH another pretty useless answer from me!
