hello I am the new mum on the block

after reading some of the tread's it has left me wondering what all the jargon means ds1,hv,dd,dh can some kind person please explain what it all means

Welcome jobey

DS1 - dear son 1 ( oldest )
DS2 - dear son 2 etc...
DD - dear daughter ( 1,2 etc as required )
DH - dear husband
DP - dear partner
HV - health visitor
DM - dear mum

Hi Jobey, here's a quick run-down:-

ds - dear son followed by a one means first, two means second and so on!!
dd - dear daughter
dh/p - dear husband/partner
hv - Health Visitor

IYKWIM - If You Know What I Mean (or sometimes If You See What I mean...IYSWIM)
BF> Boy friend Best Friend or Breast Feeding (always confuses me that one)
DP> Darling (or Dear) Partner.

Might I add - sometimes (only sometimes!) "d" does not necessarily mean "dear" or "darling"?!? At least, in my posts, and only with reference to my occasionally not so "D" P!

Jobey that was really brave of you to ask I was trying to get the hang of the abbreviations and kept getting confused as well as probably confusing everyone else
